[FenceOwl legal entity name] ("FenceOwl") runs www.fenceowl.com. This page describes what the estimate collects, who receives it, and how to reach us.
What the quote collects
The estimate form asks for:
- Your name, email, and phone.
- The property address and ZIP.
- A fence line drawn on the satellite map, or footage you type when the home is not on the photo, plus an optional note about the yard.
- An optional photo of a plot plan or survey.
- Fence style, height, and gates.
- A budget of $, $$, or $$$.
- Timing: ASAP, 1–3 months, 3+ months, or just exploring.
- Whether you own or rent, whether the property is in an HOA (and where that approval stands, if there is one), and whether the project is a new fence, a replacement, or a repair.
- An optional referral code.
- On a small job, a checkbox that a local contractor may contact you by phone, text, or email.
If you arrive from an ad, we save the page you landed on and the click identifiers in that link with the quote.
One contractor
We use this information to price the fence and to match the request with one contractor. Only one contractor holds the lead at a time. If that contractor declines or does not respond, FenceOwl can match the same request with a different contractor. The earlier contractor no longer holds it. We do not sell the lead to a list of contractors, to lead buyers, or to data brokers.
The matched contractor receives what they need for the visit: your name, email, phone, address, the drawing or footage, a plot plan if you uploaded one, the style, the budget, the timing, and the estimate. If no contractor is matched, the estimate is emailed to you and is not sent to a contractor unless you later ask for a match. On a small job, a contractor is contacted only if you check the box.
Messages about an estimate or a visit you just requested are sent with Resend. Those messages do not include an unsubscribe link.
Marketing email is sent with Loops and includes an unsubscribe link. If you unsubscribe, we keep that address on a suppression list and do not add it back to marketing email. The quote stays in our records so we can still handle the project. An address removed because its sequence finished, or because no marketing email was opened, can be added again when that person starts a new quote. An unsubscribed address is not.
Advertising measurement
The site uses the Meta pixel and the Meta Conversions API to measure ads. Before email, phone, name, and ZIP are sent, they are hashed with SHA-256. The quote id is hashed the same way. The browser can include Meta's cookies, and the server can include the IP address and browser type. The events are a quote request, a booked visit, and a sold job.
To stop this measurement for your quote, email quotes@fenceowl.com.
reCAPTCHA, maps, and hosting
Google reCAPTCHA checks that a person sent the form. Google's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service apply to that check.
The satellite map and address search use Mapbox. If Mapbox returns no match, address search can also use the U.S. Census geocoder and OpenStreetMap.
The website runs on Vercel. Quotes, accounts, and uploaded files are stored in Supabase. Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights record which pages are visited and how fast they load.
A referral link can set a cookie for 90 days so a later quote is tied to that code.
Quote links and follow-ups
Your quote page and follow-up pages use unlisted links. Search engines are asked not to index them.
After a booked visit, check-in emails go out at 14 days and at 45 days. After a job is marked sold or completed, a review link can go out 14 days after the visit. Those pages ask whether you hired the contractor, about what you paid, a short comment, and a rating from 1 to 5.
Referrals
If you join the referral program, we store the name, email, phone, and code you provide. Payout rules are on the referral terms. At $600 or more paid in a calendar year, we need a W-9 on file before we pay.
Colorado residents
If you live in Colorado, the Colorado Privacy Act lets you ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, and opt out of the sale of personal data and of targeted advertising.
We do not sell your information to other contractors, lead lists, or data brokers. Sharing the request with one matched contractor is the introduction you asked for.
Email quotes@fenceowl.com and say whether you want a copy, a correction, deletion, or to stop advertising measurement. Marketing email also has its own unsubscribe link. If we deny a request, you can email the same address and ask us to reconsider.
