FenceOwl matches you with a contractor

FenceOwl is a matching service. FenceOwl is not the contractor and does not install the fence. The company that builds the fence is independent of FenceOwl.

Homeowners pay nothing to FenceOwl. There is nothing to pay on this site. Contractors who receive a lead are billed by bank ACH. No one can pay to be listed, and no one can pay to rank higher.

Only one contractor holds a lead at a time. If that contractor declines or does not respond, FenceOwl can match the same request with a different contractor. The lead is not sold to a list of contractors.

The price is an estimate

The number is an estimate from the matched contractor's price book for the line you drew, or the footage you typed, plus the style, height, gates, and budget. It is not a signed contract. You see that number after you tell FenceOwl where to send it. City pages and style pages do not publish a per-foot price.

The matched contractor confirms footage, the property line, and site conditions on the visit, and requests 811 utility locates before anyone digs. A line on the satellite photo is not the property line.

City, HOA, permit, and frost-line notes on this site are a guide. Your city and your association have the last word.

Booking a visit asks that contractor to come out. The booking box says you are ready to confirm the price and sign on the day of the visit. The estimate can still change after the contractor checks the property line, the utilities, and the site.

If no contractor is matched, the estimate is emailed to you and is not sent to a contractor unless you later ask for a match. On a small job, a contractor contacts you by phone, text, or email only if you check the box. That path does not book a visit.

Warranties

FenceOwl does not warranty the fence. If a quote shows a warranty sentence, that sentence is the matched contractor's warranty for the style and budget on the quote. The entry-level budget states that those crews do not warranty the materials or the work. That statement is not a warranty from FenceOwl.

Referrals

FenceOwl pays a referral when a referred fence job is marked sold and FenceOwl has collected its fee from the contractor for that job. A quote alone does not earn a payout.

Jobs over the breakpoint pay the higher amount. Jobs at or under the breakpoint, down to the minimum job size, pay the lower amount. FenceOwl sets those amounts separately for realtors and partners and for homeowners. A referrer can have their own amounts. FenceOwl can instead pay a percent of the fee it collects.

The starting amounts are $200 for a realtor or partner and $100 for a homeowner on jobs over $5,000, and $100 and $50 on smaller sold jobs. Jobs under $1,500 are not paid. FenceOwl can change the breakpoint, the minimum, and the amounts. The current wording is on the referral terms page.

You cannot refer yourself. A match on the same email, phone, or property address does not qualify. FenceOwl may flag a second quote at an address it has already seen.

Payouts are totaled for the calendar year. At $600 or more, FenceOwl needs a W-9 on file before it pays. This is a summary of the program, not tax advice.

Acceptable use

Use the estimate for a real fence project. Send your own name, email, and phone, or details that person asked you to send. Do not send automated or repeated requests, and do not try to skip the reCAPTCHA check. Do not open someone else's quote link or follow-up link. Do not refer yourself.

Limitation of liability

FenceOwl introduces you to a contractor. It does not install the fence. FenceOwl is not responsible for the contractor's work, for the contractor's warranty, for a utility locate, or for confirming the property line. The estimate can change after the visit.

Colorado law may give you rights that this section cannot take away. Those rights stay with you.
